Tell the Folio Fam a little about yourself.

I have always been fascinated by sewing, but it wasn't until the pandemic, and all the down-time it provided, that I seriously started to learn. Sewing has since become a beloved hobby and a veritable obsession! In January 2023 I started sharing sew-alongs via YouTube and in less than 10 months I had created a library of over 100 videos. I figured if I was going to be sewing anyway, I may as well film and share the projects, too :) I hope the channel inspires others to dive into sewing, learn new skills, and create clothing that they truly love.

What project did you make with Folio Fabrics? What inspired you to do this project?

I discovered Folio Fabrics on Instagram and looked into their online store, finding so many beautiful fabrics that I immediately envisioned as jackets, blouses, and slacks. I decided to make a "Shacket" vibe that will get a lot of use this Fall/Winter.

What fabric did you choose and why?

I ordered Almeida Clay for its earthy tone, and I whipped up the Juneau Top by Styla Patterns. The fabric took the blouse to a whole new level, adding a little extra structure for the shacket.

What's up next for you in the future? Another project you might want to do with Folio or something else you're planning?

I have so many projects in mind -- so much to sew, so little time. 😁 For one, I do have my eye on Folio linen blends, including Callie Royal, to make a classic and comfortable pair of pants.

Collaborating with Folio Fabrics to share their collection has been a delight and I look forward to creating and sharing many more sewing projects to showcase their beautiful materials.
